Landscape Planning From Expert Landscape Architects

When submitting planning applications for a landscape development project, visual amenity and high-quality landscape design are essential for success.

We create optimal ideas to bypass recurrent problems in planning developments. Our landscape services, combined with environmental impact surveys, are completed by our team of ecological experts and specialist landscape architects to create effective solutions for landscape planning.

We can guide you through the entire development process, from landscape appraisals to developing your Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments. Our landscape architects can advise on the mitigation of any environmental issues that may arise due to your development project. We are then able to plan and conduct Landscape Capacity Studies, EIA coordination and Green Infrastructure Strategies and, if needed, we can also offer expert witness services. Our extensive landscape planning services are ideal for accomplishing a successful planning application.

To get a better idea of the scope of our services, please download the Landscape Planning brochure and contact us so we can discuss your project.

Whole Estate Landscape Planning Services

Lizard can provide Whole Estate Plan (WEP) services for individual land owning organisations within the South Downs National Park (SDNP), which help to inform how estates can adapt and develop into the future for the landowner, the estate, the community and the National Park Authority.

The aim of the WEP is to both define an agreed baseline and to aid decision making through the identification of mutually acceptable and proactive solutions which both serve the wider purposes of the National Park and those of the estate.

Considerations include adaptation to the effects of climate change, rural business adaptation, pressure of development, changes to subsidies following Brexit, pressure from visitors and planning for succession.

The estate plan is designed to help guide and support funding bids, future neighbourhood plan production,
agri-environment, forestry and clean water schemes among other environmental and social services.
